Twin Peaks Tavern
Twin Peaks Tavern in the Castro District is the place to see and be seen in the Mission. Arguably, Twin Peaks is the oldest gay bar in the country, and its giant plate glass windows means that no one passes on the street without stealing a glance. From within, you can see the best and worst of the city as you dance and drink the night away. If the Cacophony is as independently functioning as the city’s Serpents believe, its beating heart is somewhere in this bar.
